Orchid House, Linnaeusstraat 2C, next to the Oosterpark. The social is inside from now on. It used to be on the roof terrace in the summer, but it is getting too cold for that.

The easiest floor to start on

This is the gentlest social we have, because half the room is still learning. Sunday afternoon, daylight, and nobody who has been dancing for fifteen years watching you from the side.

If you have never been to a social, start with this one rather than with a Saturday night somewhere. By six o'clock you will have danced with half the room, and next time you walk in you already know some faces.

The Rookie Social

At the end of every beginners course there is a Rookie Social first, from 14:00 to 16:00. Two hours for Beginners and Improvers only, so you practise what you just learned with the people who learned it in the same weeks. At 16:00 the floor opens to everyone and the regular social carries on until 19:00, so on those Sundays it starts an hour later than usual. Most people stay.

What it costs

Nothing. Free entrance, every Sunday. You buy your own drinks and that is it.
