New: Rookie Social at Orchid House – Your First Step onto the Social Dance Floor

You’ve learned the steps. You know your basic turns. You’ve survived your first combinations. But then comes the next step: actually dancing with someone outside of class.

And we know that can feel a little intimidating.

That’s why this Sunday we’re introducing the Rookie Social at Orchid House: a social especially for our Beginners and Improvers, where you can practice, meet other dancers and get used to social dancing in a relaxed environment.

And you can bring your friends! Even if they have zero dance experience, they’re welcome to join.

We start with Merengue – no experience needed!

From 14:15 to 14:45, we kick off with a fun and easy Merengue workshop.

Merengue is one of the easiest Latin dances to get started with, so this workshop is open to everyone – including complete beginners who have never taken a dance class before.

It’s also the perfect moment to bring a friend who’s always wondered what you’ve been doing in those Salsa and Bachata classes. 😉

Two hours just for Rookies

The Rookie Social runs from 14:00 to 16:00 and is created especially for Beginners and Improvers.

No pressure, no complicated moves and no feeling that everyone around you has been dancing for ten years. The idea is simple: dance with people around your own level, practice the things you already know and discover that social dancing really isn’t as scary as it might seem.

And don’t worry about making mistakes. This isn’t an exam and nobody is keeping score. Social dancing is where you learn to turn what you practise in class into something that starts to feel natural.

Stay for the regular Social

At 16:00, we open the dance floor to everyone and the Rookie Social turns into our regular Sunday Social.

You’re absolutely welcome to stay!

It’s the perfect opportunity to take the next step and dance with people from different levels. Our more experienced dancers are also encouraged to ask the Rookies for a dance and help make everyone feel welcome.

The Rookie Social from 14:00 to 16:00, including the Merengue workshop, is FREE when you register in advance through the Bueno App.

Without advance registration, entrance is €5 at the door.

Bringing a friend? They’re very welcome, but every participant must register separately through Bueno using their own Bueno account. You cannot register an additional person under your own account.

So register in advance, bring a friend and come give social dancing a try.

Your first social dance is probably the hardest one. After that, it gets a lot easier. ❤️
